While it may feel like the end of an era now that the final Star Wars film is out in theatres, the empire isn't going anywhere. Did you really think they'd retire such a successful saga (regardless of how you feel about Rise of Skywalker or what lengths you went to in order to catch the premiere)? Of course not. They've got movies and action figures and Lego sets and Halloween costumes and even Star Wars-themed airplanes, but you know what's missing? Apparently a fully immersive Star Wars-themed hotel that's designed to make you feel like you're on a ship.
Announced back in 2017 and already under construction, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser inside the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, is now set to open in 2021. Details about the immersive experience emerged in August during Disney’s last D23 Expo where it was announced that those who choose to stay aboard the ship – named Halcyon, of course – get to interact and make alliances with cast, crew, and fellow passengers.
You get to become the hero of your own Star Wars adventure during the two-day, two-night (cruise-like) immersive experience, which starts right after check-in, where groups are led into a Launch Pod that’ll blast you off into space, then into the giant atrium to begin the journey.
Oh, and did we mention you get to train with a lightsaber?
