Last June, we unexpectedly lost celebrity chef and travel documentarian Anthony Bourdain. But, before his death, he had been working on a travel guide with his assistant Laurie Woolever, titled World Travel: An Irreverent Guide. And even though it will still be some time before the book is published, some tidbits about it have been revealed.
According to Woolever, “This book will allow Tony’s fans and followers to continue to travel in his footsteps. It’s been my honor and pleasure to create a book that includes stories from his loved ones and colleagues. I was lucky to work closely with Tony for nearly a decade, and I’m so pleased to be able to share his reflections and insights about the world, as he saw it, in this guide.”
The book will contain anecdotes and insights from Bourdain on why certain destinations became his favourites, as well as general travel advice – like how to get to the destinations, essential foods to try while you're there, recommendations on where to stay, and the oft-forgotten advice of what to avoid. Friends, family, and colleagues of Bourdain will also share their recommendations in the book.
You’ll have to wait a while to get your hands on this much-anticipated book because it will be published on October 13, 2020.
