It’s that time of year again, when Lonely Planet releases its top 10 lists for all sorts of destinations that make your eyes pop out of their socket. It feels like just yesterday when we were announcing that Jordan and Egypt had made it to the 2019 lists.

This year the MENA region has four entries on three different lists. For the top 10 countries to visit in 2020, Morocco came in 9th place- a country very well known for the vivid vibes in every market, yet it holds amazing history and architecture adding to that the first high speed train in Africa. Morocco has a lot to explore, so don't lock yourself up in Marrakesh, Casablanca, or limit your trip options to only Chefchaouen. Morocco is more familiar than you think as different spots in Morocco have been film locations for a countless favourite features.

As for Tunisia, it landed 7th place on the top 10 value destinations list; with a colourful ambiance Tunisia offers a cost effective experience and a glimpse of North Africa. With a wide range of beaches, access to the Sahara desert, and all the beautiful cities that lie in between, you will fall in love with this country. For both Morocco and Tunisia, the culinary experience is out of this world.

Last but not least, Cairo and Dubai secured their spots on the top 10 cities to visit in 2020.
