In winter 2018, Easyjet launched seasonal winter flights to Jordan from London and Berlin. This past Sunday marked the return of seasonal winter flights as Easyjet's flight from Milan Malpensa Airport in Italy landed at King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, Jordan. Not only that, today marks the arrival of Ryanair's inaugural flight from Milan to Aqaba as they join Easyjet in bringing budget flights to the Jordanian coastal town.
This year, Easyjet added Venice, Geneva, and Milan to the list of lines, bringing the total to five lines operated by Easyjet. On the flip side, Ryanair will have four main direct lines from Athens, Sofia, Rome, and Cologne flying in and out of Aqaba twice a week. According to the Jordanian Minister of Tourism and Antiques, "this will reflect positively on the tourism and commercial sectors and contribute to an increased number of tourists to the Kingdom of different European nationalities."
